Wisconsin Shirdi Sai Temple

Temple History

Our Journey

Wisconsin Shirdi Sai Temple (WISS) was established with the vision of creating a spiritual sanctuary for devotees of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in Wisconsin and the surrounding regions. Our temple serves as a beacon of faith, bringing together people from all walks of life in devotion and service.

Foundation and Growth

The temple was founded by dedicated devotees who recognized the need for a spiritual center where the teachings and blessings of Sai Baba could be shared with the community. Through the collective efforts of volunteers and the grace of Sai Baba, the temple has grown from humble beginnings to become a vibrant center of worship and community service.

Pranaprathistha

The temple celebrates its Pranaprathistha Varshikothsav (consecration anniversary) annually, marking the sacred installation of the deities. This momentous occasion is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by the entire community.

Kitchen Project - A Major Milestone

In October 2025, the temple achieved a significant milestone with the successful inauguration of our new commercial kitchen. After completing all inspections, our state-of-the-art kitchen is now fully functional, enabling us to better serve our community through prasadam distribution and community meal programs.

Community Service

From the beginning, WISS has been committed to serving the broader community. Our initiatives include:

  • Monthly sandwich projects for the homeless
  • Weekly food pantry donations
  • COVID-19 vaccination drives
  • Blood donation drives
  • Disaster relief efforts
  • Educational workshops and seminars

Cultural Programs

The temple has become a cultural hub, hosting numerous events including:

  • Annual WISS Fest celebrations
  • Classical music and dance performances
  • Singing competitions (Wisconsin Singing Idol)
  • Educational workshops on yoga, meditation, and wellness
  • Children's programs and virtues classes

Looking Forward

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains steadfast: to provide a welcoming space for spiritual growth, cultural preservation, and community service. We are grateful to all our devotees, volunteers, and supporters who have made this journey possible. With Sai Baba's blessings, we look forward to serving the community for generations to come.
